Absolutely brilliant place so tranquil bit of traffic noise but bearable, plus fishing lake which I'll be trying out even though I'm not really into fishing but my partner is, haven't tried the jacuzzi yet but plenty of time got the prosecco on chill. Would highly recommend the tree house a few steps so no good if you suffer with your legs.the spiral staircase to the bedroom is a bit scary and narrow so you have to be careful when going up and down but no buggy.

We came to the fishermans lodge for a couple of nights very recently, a getaway for my birthday with four of us (2 adults, 2 children). First off, the premises were stunning, really well maintained and homely, the kids took the bedroom of the lodge and we took the sofa bed and we all slept so soundly. The owners are warm and welcoming, both my kids are asking to go back! Surrounded by birds singing and nature whilst chilling in the fire-heated hot tub was luxury to us, we loved it.

Perfect place to get away from your busy life. We went a few years ago and only just got around to leaving a review. Great place. Great view over a beautiful lit up lake. Highly recommended.

Once again a super tranquil place to spend some time with family. It’s is always very welcoming and friendly, always there and happy to help, lovely owners. We have stayed in poachers perch and carp cabin, it’s always spotlessly clean and tidy. The fishing is what I go for and it’s been fantastic, the carp were proper on the feed this week, we had around 20 carp between 7 and 12Ib. And over 12 carp between the range of 14 and 20Ibs. Unfortunately we didn’t catch the big girl heather, but will be back for that target If you want to target silvers there’s plenty of very decent size rudd. We also had roach, bream, eel and chub. We also had a few very large roach/chub hybrids and a barbel. One thing I have noticed is don’t pile the bait in, you will catch less, these fish were all caught on a single boilie and a small pva mesh bag of pellets. We did heavily bait for 24 hours and caught nothing, they definitely prefer single baits and smaller picks. Most silvers were all caught on a float on worm. Another thing is iv fished a lot of venues, the fish here are in top nick condition, we had the odd one a bit battered but they only finished spawning last week, so it’s expected, not one fish here had a bad, torn mouth. And if you like the shorter stubbier carp, and carp in good condition and kind welcoming and friendly owners then this is the place to go. 100% recommend Trunkquility Treehouse. Thanks Helen and John x

Set in unique and peaceful sorroundings, the location is beautifully quirky and looks very magical when lit up of an evening. The wooded area was a great view to wake up to in the mornings and the presence of squirrels in the trees adds to the natural setting. A dog-friendly environment, the dogs enjoyed exploring the wooded areas freely, and the welcome treats for them were a nice touch. Its located within easy driving distance to shops and local attractions. It is worth noting that the fishing area is a short walk away, up some steps through to a gated area so consider bringing a brolly or bivvey. While small, the treehouse is clean and has all the necessary equipment for your stay. Its advisable to bring some flip flops etc for walking to and from the hot tub and some larger towels. The spiral staircase and mezzanine bedroom could be a bit tricky for taller/larger guests however, if opting to sleep on the sofa bed, you may want to consider bringing an extra quilt(s) for the base to make it more comfortable (note: small two seater sofa). You will need to hotspot for WiFi. The treehouse could use a little TLC and some updating in areas as others have mentioned. However, it is worth noting though that the owners are clearly carrying out maintenance on site and put a lot of love into this offer. Overall it was a great experience and would certainly come back and stay. We felt it was priced fairly for an Autumn mid week break.

Visited back in October the fishing was quite good for the time of year plenty of silverfish which were very good didn’t catch anything big but very happy with what I court . Very peaceful and a lovely setting As for the accommodation and access to the fishing lodge needs to be improved as for my wife isn’t very good on her feet and can’t walk very far the lodge it self was ok if just staying for a weekend but any longer we found it bit to small for us but that’s our view The owners are very friendly and welcoming and are at hand for anything you need Overall it’s a hidden gem
